Planning an event and looking for performers can be overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to decide which band to go with.
Some of the things you can do to make the process easier include:
Ask for Recommendations
Get in touch with other people who love music, either online or off, and ask them to give you recommendations. When you’re asking for recommendations, make sure that you are as specific as possible so as not to be disappointed by the choices they offer.
Do Your Research
Be sure to research the many choices that are available. Find out what type of music the band you are considering plays, what their best songs are, where they are located, and other details that may be important.
Be thorough in your research so that, by the time you get in touch with the band, you’re convinced that they will provide the kind of performance you’re looking for.
Try them Out First
Go the extra mile and listen to some of the band’s demo music before making any financial commitments. This will give you a general idea of what to expect from them once you contract them to play at your event.
Most professional bands always have samples of their music available on their website, or they can provide you with a hyperlink where you can find and sample their music.
Hold a Meeting
If possible, hold a meeting with the band (even if this means doing it online) so they will know your expectations. Inform them about the kind of guests they will be performing for, and about what you expect them to do during the performance.
Ask as many questions as you need to so that by the time you are done with the meeting, you’re confident that they understand everything that is expected of them.
